100 people. We are officially at three times the number of people we served pre-COVID at this event.
This month’s event was another great example of just how important community support and relationships are to our ability to help our neighbors. We don’t do any of work this alone.
Several individuals who usually receive services jumped in and helped us set up as well as distribute hygiene items and food. We love this because it is exactly the heart of who we are. We also love this because folks can receive services AND work on completing their community service hours.
We are so fortunate to partner with Milwaukie Lutheran Church and Stephanie Hollingshead. Stephanie and her team run a clothes trailer at our event and help folks shop for clothing. She also provides a meal once a month, ensuring our neighbors have a delicious meal while they access our services.
Clackamas Fred Meyer employee Leila delivered several hundred bottles of hand sanitizer and stayed to volunteer with us. Thank you Fred Meyer and Leila! We recently posted a request for more menstruation supplies and Kari delivered! Literally and figuratively. Kari showed up with a giant armload of supplies and it was so lovely to meet her in person!
Junior volunteer Derek wore his crown thanks to a recent trip to Burger King. He graciously shared with us, but “just for a minute.”
Neighbor P showed us her new kicks from Providence BOB Outreach Specialist Alex. 21 folks accessed harm reduction services thanks to Blake and Outside In. We’re super excited about this: Outside the Frame was onsite shooting footage for an upcoming LoveOne video! OTF changes how homeless and marginalized youth see and are seen through film.
