Oregon City - January 2020

Update: We washed and dried 1,140 pounds of clothes and connected with 19 families last night. 🙌🏻

The numbers aren’t tallied yet, but we had a great time hanging out with our neighbors at the laundromat tonight. We had a fantastic turnout of volunteers, including some new friendly faces. C3 Car Club Portland came out and helped keep laundry running smoothly. Have we mentioned that one of the C3 members drives all the way from Astoria to help out?!? Thanks Linda! 🌊

Our pop-up changing tent was put to good use as several of our neighbors arrived in wet clothes and were able to change into clean, dry clothes and socks before getting their wash going. One of our neighbors shared that he walked three hours to get to the laundromat. Our incredible volunteer Jo brought her sewing kit and went to work patching up shirts and coats. We celebrated Teresa’s birthday with delicious cupcakes and a version of Happy Birthday that may not win any awards but was definitely heartfelt.🎶

Earlier this week we picked up a few boxes of supplies from Dave and Tina’s house. One box contained some hats that were quickly put to use providing a little comic relief as we shared stories about Dave and the impact he left on us all.

And last but certainly not least, C3 showed us the decals they created to honor and remember Dave. ❤️
