We are so appreciative of our partnerships with Solve, Metro and Clackamas County, Oregon to help clean up trash and abandoned camps at various locations identified by community partners including businesses, law enforcement and residents.
We also work with folks camping outside to identify trash and make a plan for when we return to help clean up. We do intensive outreach by building relationships, connecting people to various resources and extending invitations to laundry and shower events. Through trust building we are able to work with folks to identify the next steps they want to work on.
We pay individuals with lived experience to participate in our trash clean up events, working alongside each other and sharing a meal as well as a LOT of sweat! On March 10, we removed 80 yards (7 tons) of trash from behind Oregon City Les Schwab thanks to the work of 31 staff, volunteers and folks with lived experience.
Thank you Les Schwab Tire Center for allowing us to use your parking lot and being an amazing partner for many years!
